Countdown timers for streamers (Twitch, YouTube, OBS)
Use a clean, fullscreen countdown as a stream overlay or 'starting soon' screen for Twitch, YouTube, and OBS.
A 'starting soon' screen with a real countdown is dramatically more engaging than a static image. Viewers stick around because they can see exactly when the show begins.
Create the timer for your start time
Pick the moment your stream actually starts and add a short title like 'Stream starts in' or 'Back in'. Skip the end message or set it to 'Live now →'.
Add it to OBS as a Browser Source
In OBS, add a Browser Source pointing to your timer link, set width and height to your canvas (e.g. 1920×1080), and toggle fullscreen mode in the timer page. The countdown overlays your scene with no browser chrome.
Reuse the same link for breaks
Generate a short break timer (10 or 15 minutes) before you go AFK. Open it on your stream PC and you have an instant 'BRB' screen with a real countdown.
